But El and his friend have seen enough to hold a grudge.

Elminster, Book 2 Written by: Then El elmunster turned into a woman and I kind of lost it. It starts with them all hiding in a cave structure made into a long term refuge. Which scene was your favorite?

It could be a lot better and the author admits as much: Hero was the final book for Drizzt and I was left wanting elminstet forgotten Realms However, I will also admit that he is starting to grow on me now that i’m on, like his 5th book Not know who is with who and why people are doing what they are doing.

I don’t enjoy reading books where I have to go back and read something over again just to figure out what is happening a few pages ahead. Great story, poor narration I stuck through the first two chapters of this book but couldn’t bring myself to spend any flminster time on it.

Elminster: The Making of a Mage Audiobook | Ed Greenwood |

I thought the execution was lacking. Hi John and Sarah. There may be a time where I decide to learn more of El’s perils, but elmihster now it will remain in its place. The story was just everywhere on this book for me. A bookshop selling it very, very cheaply. There is this really long battle sequence again, this one is slightly better than the first one because it involves a bunch of magic including a threeway fight between a dragon, a mind flayer, and a beholder I will probably check out some of Greenwood’s newer Forgotten Realms books, but I don’t think I’ll be continuing the Elminster legacy.

When a dragon-riding magelord sweeps down upon him, though, the boy is thrust into a world of harsh realities, corrupt rulers, and evil sorcerers. He elminstet a friend and partner, now.

Elminster’s father was a humble man, and never wanted the thrown anyway. I don’t think Greenwood is very good at this aspect of his writing, so it is a bit tedious, and i won’t bore you with it This would not be the book to make a movie. Publisher’s Summary How do you tempt an archmage elmibster has everything? This elminsted is not worth the effort.

Even the parts about Eliminster weren’t enough to tie everything together. The entangled stories are well planned in this book. There is no connection between them, and in a way they are all independent communities elminstrr is no concept of democracy or a republic in the Forgotten Realms, which is very disappointing since Republics have been in existence for a very long time — in fact I have never seen the word republic used in conjuction with the Forgotten Realms, despite it having been a part of our vocabulary, since at least Plato.

How does this one compare? Jan 08, Pierre rated it really liked it Shelves: But Elminster survives in the form of magical ash, and with the help of his scion, a fop who is growing into a true nobleman, and his elmihster companion Storm, he still has a chance to counter Manshoon’s insidious plots. I was holding onnto hope that the Elminster series would be part of what Amazon would bring to the table for Audible’s listeners. The story was epic, the narration by John Pruden was perfect it brought the story to life.

But she is hunted now and has to be carful Some of it has to do with the writing style where I feel like I’m missing out on information. I recommend this to all who love fantasy. John Pruden does an excellent job as always.

Be prepared to look-up names online and take your time. Elminster in Myth Drannor Forgotten Realms: There were a few good moments in the book, but overall Ed green one has done much better with some of his other writings. I enjoyed reading the story of the mighty Elminster. Any sense of suspense is non-existent as he goes from one quest to the next usually with someone helping him along – on his own he’s pretty useless.
