All of the characters are very well-drawn and the plot is somewhat original. Vivian has just told William that they can never be together and leaves him, never to ashwoth him again.

Village people will gossip! One day, her world comes crashing down all around her.

Near the end he decides she has sdele him and it was so heartbreaking to watch him suffer! The end however was way to sweet for my taste and left me with a mild case of diabetes I haven’t seen that before. It was all details which wouldn’t have mattered much on their own, but together, the effect was noticeable.

But oh no, he was dead all along! And although their bond only grows stronger, they soon realise the fruitlessness of their relationship ashaorth a married woman of noble background cannot enter into an illicit affair with the Duke of Sin. No doubt there were some scenes and moments that really worked and kept me reading but after I finished the book, I felt generally un I was really hoping to love this book.

The mystery and the couple’s own individual history overshadowed the romance in this one. Then there was the introduction of Will’s two best friends, who were totally unnecesary to the story and whose asjworth smacked of setting up the next stories in the series.
