Maybe it is fitting that it alessndro an Italian- an Italian who would include a priest in his cast of characters, to do it. This article about a s novel is a stub. I thought director Francois Girard tried to ape Terence Mallick’s direction, with lush natural beauty punctuated with voice over narration of the character’s inner-most thoughts.

During his stay in Japan, he becomes obsessed with the concubine of a local baron.
